Rochdale Canal Boatelier

A short residency on a narrow boat travelling from Todmorden to Hebden Bridge was shared with other artists and the results shown at Union 105 in Chapeltown, leeds. Canal boats carried goods and vital supplies to the large towns and the Rochdale canal served Leeds and the mills in nearby Huddersfield. Drawings were made and translated onto linen strips using materials known to people who once worked here - coal dust, graphite, salt and cotton.
